Dermaplaning is an advanced procedure that exfoliates the skin, removing up to 2 to 3 weeks worth of rough, dead skin cells and vellus hair, aka peach fuzz allowing the underlying layers to be stimulated to produce collagen and elastin. It uses a small sterile blade and with the skin held taut, swiped in a gentle upward motion.
The exfoliation removes the dead skin reducing blemishes and marks and encourages the growth of new, healthy skin cells and can have a positive impact on the skin cell lifecycle.
Dermaplaning is a highly effective way to resurface the skin in a gentle manner that does not damage the skin. It also does not involve the application of chemicals which makes it a great alternative for individuals who have sensitive skin and cannot undergo chemical peels or other chemically based treatments.
